The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), a central institution within the United Nations system based in Geneva, has embarked on an ambitious modernization of its audiovisual (AV) equipment. For this strategic project, Projection Nouvelle was selected to redesign the entire AV infrastructure, addressing complex technical challenges and offering innovative solutions.
A Tailored Response to WIPO’s Requirements
WIPO’s goal was clear: to standardize its installations to facilitate connectivity, ensure seamless multilingual interpretation, and provide maximum flexibility across its various meeting and conference rooms. Projection Nouvelle met these needs by leveraging two key technologies: the Televic Plixus conference system and AMX centralized control solutions.
Through intelligent interconnection of spaces via secure networks, Projection Nouvelle enabled audio-video “coupling” and the pooling of interpretation systems. This allows rooms to be seamlessly linked to accommodate more delegates or facilitate simultaneous observation sessions.
Demonstrated Technical Expertise
To execute this complex project, Projection Nouvelle integrated cutting-edge equipment: Televic Plixus stations in all rooms, the Lingua TX system for multilingual distribution, and global control via AMX. Each room, regardless of size, now features the same standardized user interface, ensuring intuitive operation for all participants.
By creating customized AMX interfaces and developing bespoke drivers, Projection Nouvelle harmoniously integrated existing and new equipment. This meticulous work optimized audiovisual flows while providing operators with complete control through ergonomic touchscreens.
A Mission of International Scope
WIPO organizes nearly 150 conferences annually, bringing together delegates from around the world. To meet these significant diplomatic challenges, Projection Nouvelle also modernized the site’s two iconic conference rooms: the historic 1970s conference hall and the new contemporary room.
The installed solutions not only manage simultaneous interpretation in six languages (French, English, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, and Russian) but also allow for direct control of Panasonic cameras, projectors, and lighting systems.
A Shared Pride
As Alexandre Rouvelet, Technical Director at Projection Nouvelle, states: “We are very proud to have provided great ease of use for operators, despite the technical complexity hidden behind the system.”
With this achievement, Projection Nouvelle confirms its status as a leading integrator in the field of institutional audiovisual systems, capable of supporting large-scale international projects.
